Chairman: Maarten Aarse.

Maarten has been studying for quite some time... though you'll have to ask him personally how long ;) Currently, he is studying English Language & Culture and Sociology, and he has high hopes of getting his BA in both this year. Maarten's favourite pastimes include photography, cooking for his girlfriend and for the NUTS board, watching movies and TV series, RPGs, board games, graphic novels, the Beatles, and wasting too much time on things that aren't useful in anyway whatsoever. Although he is as chaotic as ever, his goal this year is to bring more structure to the organisation of NUTS, including its activities. And, yet again, to get custard throwing on the list of next year's Introduction Camp activities!

Treasurer: Annemiek Korf.

Born in the famous metropolitan Sint Annaparochie where the police still saddle their pigs in and out of season, she was destined to be an English student. She now is a third year student of English now and still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. So in order to finds a purpose in life, she spends a lot of time with her boyfriend, reading books, studying, playing role playing games, watching movies and TV series, and listening (casually, not seriously) to music. As treasurer of NUTS she has a way with money (and spending it). This year’s aim is make all the financial business of the past three year in a good state and to organize the best Cambridge trip ever!

Secretary: Inge van de Rijt.

Inge is one of the new additions to the Nuts board, she will be trying to fulfill her duties as the new secretary as well as possible, even if this means she has to overcome her issues with punctuality and deadlines! As a fifth year student, Inge also has had quite the experience with studying already. She left behind three years of attempting to become a social scientist and has now finally found what she’d been looking for in English Language and Culture. After years of dealing with the problems of society and its inhabitants, she now spends her time writing hundreds (might be a slight exaggeration =D ) of essays, reading, analyzing and trying to master the art of literature and its many mysteries. This 22 year-old loves to watch movies, go out, shop, cook and hang with her housemates and friends and go to concerts and music festivals such as Lowlands, Pinkpop and Rock Werchter (BE) with her boyfriend. This year she hopes to finally find the right balance between studying, working, having a social life and being the Nuts secretary!

PR Commissioner: Peter Meelker.

PR Commissioner Peter Meelker Peter decided to pass the torch of Secretary this year to his dear colleague Inge. He will be focussing on the real important issues, namely PR. Cause he is such a nice guy, Peter will gladly hand over all his previous responsibilities to her, and watch her struggle with them. A second year in the NUTS board may seem a little crazy to some, but someone’s gotta do it.. And in his new position, Peter is certain he will enjoy this year just as much as the previous. If his picture isn’t enough for you; here is some more info on the guy. He was born in Friesland, but gladly moved to Groningen to study English. Peter likes writing stuff about himself, as well as making music, singing, watching either Project Runway or Topmodel, hanging out at his crib and going to the gym. His favourite movie is Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and his favourite music is any jazz classic or Beethoven. (But he also secretly likes dirty pop songs)

General Boardmember: Fenna van der Poel.

Fenna is the general board member of NUTS and, with her 19 years of life experience, the youngest of the gang. Whenever she isn´t busy with her study or other obligations, she enjoys scribbling her dark/creative/weird thoughts down in her little purple book. Other things she likes are making weird popping noises with her mouth, doing little dances in her room when nobody’s watching and making illustrations. Oh, and ever since Maarten introduced her to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series she’s been hooked ;) Fenna is a big fan of the artist Chris Riddell; if she could ever meet him she´d probably just sit on his lap while feeding him Oreo’s and stroking his hair... Her goals in life are to illustrate a children´s book, learn how to make fabulously delicious and cute cupcakes and, at some point, to own a pugs dog.
