We are NUTS

NUTS is the student organisation for students of English at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Today, we organise activities to create opportunities for the students of English to meet up and do things together outside of the classroom. This starts with the introduction camp for first year students of English at the beginning of the academic year. Throughout the year we organise drinks nights and quiz nights every month.

Together with our new cctivity committee CoCo, we organize all sorts of activities such as the Halloween Party in October, movie nights, theme parties, dinner parties, etcetera. For further information on our activities in the past years, you can either check the information on the CoCo's or the photos section on this site.

In collaboration with several Alpha and Beta student organizations we organize a yearly ABC party, this often entails letter-themed parties, and an annual 'Gala', in 2010 this was a Ball Masque. Furthermore, we help the Faculty of Arts and the Department of English in organizing events such as the 'Music and Poetry Evening', the 'Christmas Carols' in December and lectures relating to English. One of the highlights of this year will be the annual study-tour, upcoming May holiday we will be visiting Oxford. Every other year we visit Cambridge, the pictures of previous years' trips can be found in the photos section.
